This is a poster for one of the shows from the Das Oath/Panthers tour of Europe and I am not sure it even qualifies as a poster. Its close but….Feel like whoever did it ran out of time.
FYI if you are going to tour Europe, do it with a band you are friends with and go to multiple countries. This tour was much more fun than the last time Panthers was over there where we did the UK and only the UK for THREE WEEKS. Terrible idea. An entire book can be written about that experience and probably should be. Look I’m just saying if your local areas “Scene” is blowing up and someone trying to capitalize off the popularity of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs thinks you should come to an area where you should spend at most 4 days, but instead wants you to play every Barfly possible..JUST SAY NO.
either way. If i remember correctly, this is a show that GRANTED we showed up a little late for in Brighton. Apparently it was an earlier show. But we were not that late and our trip was a nightmare. But as soon as we got out of the van we were immediately being yelled at by the promoter. That both us and DAS OATH were rock stars and assholes and fucked up the whole show and threatened he wasnt going to pay us and how everyone had left cause they waited so long. Mind you we ended up still playing. the show still had people at it (more than most). And as soon as we were done we realized that the promoter had bolted with all the money, and taken all the food he had bought for us to eat. We met some great kids who knew the promoter and we tried to get Henry Rollins “Get In The Van” on him and search him out to get our money that he punked out on. But no dice. Luckily those kids gave us a place to crash. It was all a bummer because our last show in Brighton was one of the highlights of the 3 week tour from hell.
All in all a pleasant reminder that just because you are in your 30’s doesn’t mean you might not have to almost fight a kid for your money.
